Uncle Bucks proved itself a fun place for a game of bowling with the kids and my young ones seemed happy enough with the experience. They serve a good number of mixed drinks and soft drinks, but the beer selection it limited, which was a disappointment for a place located within a quick drive of so many amazing local craft breweries. It was certainly an acceptable enough pizza, but it isn’t going to win any awards for quality. The price for the bowling was a little high, but our Groupon discount helped.Īs for the food, we decided to order pizza. The bowling is charged by the hour and, with three of us bowling, we did manage to complete two full games. They did not reset and return the bowling balls as smoothly as they should. We did have some issues with the automatic bowling lanes. The place seems fun for kids and not surprisingly, there were a good number of kids present when we visited. The bowling lanes feature a shark’s head with mouth open, serving as the bowling ball return. Uncle Bucks features an aquatic theme with sharks and other fish on display and the color blue dominates. We were only moderately hungry but the prospects of a quick game or two of bowling sounded fun, so we proceeded to walk inside. It was also because it is a bowling alley as well as a restaurant. What attracted us to Uncle Bucks wasn’t just its convenient location, close to the outlet shopping where my kid was buying herself some accessories. The place is Uncle Bucks Fish Bowl and Grill, located in Round Rock, right next door to a Bass Pro Shop. We didn’t really have any preset plans on what to do so when the time came to eat, we noticed there was an eatery nearby that looked interesting and kid- friendly. Visiting Austin, Texas for my kid’s birthday presented us with extra time for shopping and dining.
